Front Royal

Next Stop Northbound: Riverton, Virginia
Next Stop Southbound: Bentonville, Virginia
Front Royal, Virginia

Over time there have been three Front Royal stations.  The original station disappeared in 1926 when thieves tried to open the station's safe with explosives, instead taking out the entire building.

In 1954 N&W began construction of a new consolidated passenger and freight station on Kendrick Lane in Front Royal. The facility replaced an existing station on Luray Avenue and the station located in Riverton, VA. The move was made in part as one of the railroad's attempts to improve passenger service on the line.

Date (circa 1954) and photographer unknown.

The 1935 timetable states a connecting dispatcher was located at the South End Passing Siding.
