Ashby is an unincorporated community in Warren County, Virginia. There is documentation that suggests a structure/station was built in 1879, but was gone by 1946. However, a shed was built and Ashby remained a flag stop, meaning a patron ways a flag to signal the approaching engine to stop, for trains nos. 13 & 14. We do know in 1890 the Ashby station was outfitted with a telegraph office. |
